Inspiration and Enrichment @
the New Oxford Library
In
thinking about this article, I found the following quotation inspiring
"A library is both
comfort food and inspiration, opportunity for growth, and the place where
anyone can come for personal enrichment." Judy Strong, Author.
Looking
for another way to use the tomatoes and zucchinis growing abundantly in your
garden? If so, you’re in luck! You will
see a collection of recipe books at the library to help you with the vegetables
you are harvesting. I have been making Dill pickles and Zucchini Bread, Zucchini
cake. . Well, you can do so much with zucchinis.
I
have a great assistant who enjoys the challenge of creating monthly displays of
materials to inspire and surprise our patrons. Did you know August is National
Golf Month and the 13th is Left Hander’s Day? We also can’t forget the birthdays of the
authors, Herman Melville (August 1) and Mary Shelley (August 30).
If
you like to talk about the books you read and would like to join a book
discussion group, come to the library. We talk about the author and then the
book of the month as well as other books we are reading. Feel free to join
us-registration is necessary and the books are provided by the library. The Readers Forum Book Discussion, an Adult Reader's
group meeting the 2nd Thursday of the month from 9:00AM -10:00 AM are reading
the following titles:
September 13, 2012, A
Dog’s Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron -The 2012 Adams County Read One Book
Selection.
October 11, 2012 Girl in
the Green Raincoat by Laura Lippman

Reader by Bernard Schlink
