If you are learning English or another language for that business trip or vacation- the library has a great assortment of materials for you. There are books and dvds available in Spanish and English on Citizenship, GED and Practical Math. The libraries have a great selection of bilingual books for tutors, teachers and families. Mango language is available through the library’s website (www.adamslibrary.org).  Each lesson in this language-learning database combines real life situations and audio from native speakers with simple, clear instructions.
There are two Book Discussions for adults at the New Oxford Area Library and you are welcome to join us for a casual discussion about the author and the title we have read. The library provides the books and audiobooks for these groups. Please see the librarian to receive your copy and the bookmark with the other titles we are reading.
Meeting the First Thursday of every month from 9:00am -10:00am is the “Book Shelf“ which reads mainly mystery titles. This group began in 2002 with a grant from the Pennsylvania Humanities Council. The members of this group pick the titles they read – cozies, thrillers, espionage, police and detectives or medical thrillers- and there is always great conversation. Our next selections are: March 3- Reckless by Andrew Gross and April 7- The Informant by Thomas Perry.
Meeting the Second Thursday of every month from 9:00am - 10:00am is The Reader’s Forum which reads Fiction and Nonfiction titles.  Three ladies- friends since Elementary school -asked if we could begin another book discussion group reading an assortment of books in 2011. The  next selections are: March 10- Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult and April 14 we will be reading the Adams County Reads One Book nonfiction selection, Sex on the Moon:  the amazing story behind the most audacious heist in history.  The title is available in regular print, large print, as well as downloadable audiobook and ebook formats.
